CellarDoor was formed in 2006, bringing together musicians from several other local bands. Based in West Chester, the band performs regularly at venues in PA, NJ and DE, including the Mojo 13, Pale Dog Saloon, and Cherrywood Rock Club. The band has also had shows at the Trocadero (Mainstage), JC Dobbs, Whiskey Dix, The Rusty Nail, Joker's Bar and Grill, Chaplin’s, Mascots, The Pennant East and played on 93.7 FM WSTW's Hometown Heroes.
CellarDoor is a hard rocking, original band. Musical influences range from hard rock (Guns N’ Roses), metal (Staind, Disturbed) and classic rock (Aerosmith, Led Zepplin), to punk (Misfits) and alternative rock (Soundgarden, Alice In Chains). The band has enough original music for a full-hour-plus set, but throws in a few covers on occasion.
In a relatively short time, CellarDoor has developed a loyal following. On average, between 20 to 30 people usually come to the band’s shows. At larger venues, such as the Trocadero, the band has sold over 100 tickets.
Dave Gerber, lead vocals, has been the frontman for a few area bands including PureBlind and American Tragedy. Dave’s strong vocals provide the force of the sound, while his charisma keeps the audience engaged.
Scott Stevicks, rhythm guitar and back-up vocals, played with Split Second prior to co-founding CellarDoor. Scott, one of the main writers of the band’s music, brings heavy rhythms and harmonies to round out the CellarDoor sound.
Karas Bensetler, lead guitar, delivers powerful riffs and melodic leads. Karas played with Roadhead and Split Second prior to co-founding CellarDoor.
Danny Winters, drums, previously played with classic rock/blues bands in the Reading/Harrisburg area. He was also a member of Split Second and co-founded CellarDoor. Danny’s technical/precise playing style provides a solid backbone for the band’s songs.
John Kennish, bass, played in area bands Gravity and Disillusion among others. John’s prolific and intuitive bass playing locks tight with the drums to give the band a groove with a solid foundation.
