Started out of a growing discontent with the NC music Scene at the time, and a growing hatred for the World and the Society that it has created, and a general sense of discontentment...Forgotten Generation began initially as Code Red. The idea had been sitting for a long time in the minds of long time friends Phil and Tyler. Towards the end of their High School careers, they tapped good friends Johnny Degenerate and Bryon Smallwood for Bass and Drums(respectively...). From the start, we knew had something. We weren't just a band...we were a fuckin' gang. We lived as a gang, traveled as a gang, and fought as a gang. After getting some Originals written and polished as well as covers that showed the bands influences, Code Red started playing shows. After a few, the realization that not only there was a Girl Band, a Boy Band, and then a fuckin' Soft Drink named Code Red....on a spur of the moment trip back from Charlotte, Forgotten Generation was decided on as the new name. From there more shows followed, more fans came along, and then some trouble hit. For a short time, the band went on a hiatus due to some (in hind sight....) stupid tensions and arguments between Johnny and Phil. After Johnny and Phil realized they were both idiots and apologized...Forgotten Generation was back. Our only recorded album followed our rejoining. A couple of live recordings were made as well. But soon enough...disaster struck. During a time when things were picking up for the band, Phil was struck with an illness and was forced into hospitalization. During his time in the hospital as well as his time in recovery...the band drifted apart. Johnny returned to his home in Morganton. Tyler became a Paramedic. Bryon got involved in other bands. Phil began rebuilding his life. Tyler is now an Asst. Chief of a Local Fire Department. Bryon is now a father. Johnny is currently undertaking new musical avenues. And Phil is currently in between bands....taking time off to pursue other musical outlets and preparing for the planned revival of Forgotten Generation sometime in 2009. He has since played with The Beatdowns, Empire Falls, Mountain of Judgment, The Flat Tires, and others. The boys have moved on. The band was through...for then...........but soon......we WILL be back!!!!!!!
