The Bee Gees were already established hit makers in the U.S. and the U.K. when the group became an unstoppable musical force in 1975. In four short years, Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb rose to international superstardom as they recorded a string of worldwide hits, sold 180 million records worldwide and helped define an era with the Grammy-winning Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The Brothers Gibb capped their amazing run in 1979 with the multi-platinum BEE GEES GREATEST, a double album spotlighting the group’s meteoric run of R&B dance hits between 1975 and 1979.
Out-of-print for five years, and in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever, Reprise will reissue the monumental collection as a two-CD deluxe edition that contains two previously unreleased tracks—“Warm Ride†and an extended version of “Stayin’ Alive,†originally a 12†promo vinyl—along with five contemporary dance remixes of classic Bee Gees songs by some of today’s hot club DJs. BEE GEES GREATEST will be available September 18 at all physical retail outlets and www.rhino.com for a suggested price of $19.98. The album will also be available at all digital retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $14.99, and will include two extra tracks and videos.
The double-disc contains selections from three of the Bee Gees’ studio albums: 1975’s Main Course (certified gold), 1976’s Children Of The World (certified platinum) and 1979’s Spirits Having Flown (certified platinum), as well as the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977), which has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide.
The collection assembles essential listening including “How Deep Is Your Love,†“Stayin’ Alive,†“Night Fever,†“Too Much Heaven,†“Tragedy†and “Love You Inside Outâ€â€”a run of six consecutive 1 hits within a year and a half. BEE GEES GREATEST also features the 1 hits “You Should Be Dancing†and “Jive Talkin’†plus the Top 10 singles “Nights On Broadway†and “Love So Right.â€
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever, the film that launched the career of John Travolta, the dance craze of the late ‘70s, and the massive resurgence of the Bee Gees—one of the greatest R&B acts of the ‘60s and early ‘70s. The arrival of the CD coincides with Paramount Home Entertainment’s September 18 release of the SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER Special Collector’s Edition DVD, which features new interviews with cast members and Barry and Robin Gibb, as well as all-new featurettes on the making of the film and its cultural impact. Reprise and Paramount Home Entertainment are planning a massive celebration to mark the anniversary of this landmark film.

ADDITIONAL BEE GEES TITLES
The Bee Gees' phenomenal success in the 1970s often obscures the fact that by the time the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack redefined R&B dance music, the trio already had more than ten albums and a string of worldwide hits under their belts.
One of the best-selling and influential groups in popular music, The Bee Gees’ career spanned five decades, five GRAMMYs and eight platinum albums – but until now, the group’s extraordinary catalog has never been upgraded. The revitalization of these three early masterpieces marks the first time the group has opened their extensive tape vaults for archival mining, allowing a full disc of rarities and previously unreleased tracks to be added on to each album. On Bees Gees’ 1st, Horizontal and Idea, the musical genius of the Bee Gees now sound better than ever.
1ST (Expanded and Remastered)
Originally released in 1967, Bee Gees' 1st is a harmony-heavy, rock-flavored masterpiece that instantly put the group at the forefront of the wave of hit music coming out of the U.K. The album delivered a trio of Top 20 smashes: "To Love Somebody," "New York Mining Disaster 1941," and "Holiday." The first disc of this lavish expanded edition contains both mono and stereo versions of the original album. The second disc features 14 previously unreleased tracks, including alternate versions of most of the album cuts, plus the recording debuts of "Gilbert Green," "House Of Lords," "All Around The Clock," and other rarities.
HORIZONTAL (Expanded and Remastered)
1968's Horizontal boasts adventurous arrangements and production and features the signature hit "Massachusetts," a chart-topper in Britain that went to 11 in the U.S. Also features the standouts "World," "And The Sun Will Shine," "Harry Braff," and the psychedelic title track. The first disc of this lavish expanded edition contains both mono and stereo versions of the original album. The second disc features 13 rarities, including nine previously unreleased tracks, among them "Out Of Line" and "All My Christmases Came At Once," plus the seasonal medley "Silent Night/Hark The Herald Angels Sing."
IDEA (Expanded and Remastered)
Featuring a touch more rock and a bit less orchestra, 1968's Idea produced singles that cracked the U.S. Top 10: "I've Got To Get A Message To You" and "I Started A Joke." The first disc of this lavish expanded edition contains both mono and stereo versions of the original album. The second disc features alternate mixes of "Idea," "Kitty Can," and "Let There Be Love," the film songs "Chocolate Symphony" and "Gena's Theme," and many more rarities and previously unreleased picks, including "Another Cold And Windy Day," "Sitting In The Meadow," and two rare Coca-Cola commercials.
