About Me

I was born in Benfleet, Essex, England in June 1970. In late 2006, i completed an album of songs entitled, 'Closure'. The songs were written in a 5 year period, the earliest one dating back to 2001. My love of Soul and R'n'b, can be heard all over this album. This collection of songs is at times deeply personal. But relationships good or bad, i managed to find motivation and inspiration despite, to complete them.CLOSURE: This song is a moving on song. It's about me ,but it's a song for all the slow healing people. It's about the sheer relief of coming to the end of an emotional and draining cycle and being able to smile and laugh again and feel positive! Was listening to Alexander O'neal's Hearsay album at time. That sound is in there somewhere, as is Michael Mcdonald's lower Falsetto.YES, I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU: Wrote this one for Lionel Richie to record. Just need someone who knows him to tell him. Can't say it's about any girl in particular. I just wanted to remind myself of how good it feels to be in love. LOVE OF OUR OWN: Media intrusion into famous people's lives. Can't relate to it personally, but i sympathise to the point of the celeb and his or her family being constantly hounded. Though i am not enamoured by those who see life as 1 big photo opportunity either. UNTIL I GET OVER HER: This 1 is about not being over someone enough to be able to commit to someone else. It feels like a double blow, as maybe in time things could work out with the 2 of you. But if your still in love with someone else, if your honest you have to leave it to what might have been. The spirits of 2 of my favourite singers also haunt me in both the structure of the song and the vocal delivery. James Ingram and Michael Mcdonald.SPINNIN': Was in the studio with Martin Johnson the producer on this album and played him the song as i had written it. What i had written as the bridge leading up to each chorus, on his suggestion became the chorus. The chorus was left for another day. Got to admit he was right.JAIME: I met a young Femme Summer 2005, Whilst visiting a couple of my best mates who were working at a holiday park in Cornwall. At the end of every night there she was, an engaging lovely girl, who restored my lapsed faith in women. We only talked, but her selfless way encouraged me to open my eyes again. Thanks Jaime for giving me a kick up the proverbial. Wrote the song when i got home, felt empty, but knew what i'd been missing.
