About Me

Just lovin' life in the lakes area of Minnesota. Four great kids and one beautiful wife make it easy. Oh, and I write some pretty decent music while I'm at it... * www.soundclick.com/ericriehle * I started out playing bass at 13...Wanted to be the next John Paul Jones, I guess...Then I expanded my listening repetoire; Peter Mars Cowling, Tim Bogert, Phil Chen, Entwistle...I got pretty good over the years, but never close to those guys' league...Played in a lot of rock & roll bands, mostly out of Tulsa OK in the early 80s...Lots of road work, little success. I passed on a small number of career making opportunities, maybe wasn't what I wanted. After the road and back into civilian life I settled into a great relationship and refocused my musical desires...Now I write and poorly record what I think are some damm good songs...At least they would be in the right hands, hint hint...

Me & My Shaman

Not Like It's Brain Surgery...er...

...Alright, color me corrected, it is much more like brain surgery than I'm maybe willing to admit, in fact the boys are even calling it "brain surgery" down at the plant...One nice thing about the in...

The Angel On My Shoulder

That's what my wife calls it--The fact that I'm not dead or comatose. You see, I've spent the last number of years on ladders, rooftops and any & all manner of unstable, unsure footing, relatively far...

Lemmings & Concrete

I don't come around much anymore...The fact that we just bought a house and I am duly overwhelmed with the engineering aspects of it all (remodel hell) is part of it. What was, and eventually is, goin...

New Studio...And Stuff

The "stuff" would be the new house to go with the studio, of course. Well, ok, there might be some additional stuff...OK, likely be some additional stuff, but I dunno how much of that I'm willing to p...

After maybe two years of talk and procrastination Kratzke and I have officially initiated a team writing effort...And it doesn't even itch, much less hurt... Our first project is a rewrite of a song t...

Rebirth, Reborn, Born Again...Yeah, That

Huh...After 20 years it looks like I'm circling back... I bought my first bass guitar, an Apollo Jazz Bass clone, when I was 13 years old. I don't have enough RAM in my system to be able to tell the t...
