Biography Fred Numf
Others may have claimed this before, but few possess the talent and skill to play a set like Fred Numf can. With more than ten years of experience as a world renowned artist, Fred Numf can rock any club, festival or event in a way others only wish they could. Fred’s music combines incredible driving energy with a very sophisticated rhythm which has left audiences around the world wanting more.
Leave the genres aside. By night, Fred Numf fires off deep, progressive tracks with point-blank accuracy in the mix, and by day he's rolling out the heavy artillery for a long discography of hard hitting singles and remixes. His sound is futuristic house music with a raw edge, although there's a definite retro element creeping in, flavored with that dirty electro-tech tinge long before it became so popular with today's clubbers and DJs. His catalogue is filled to the brim with his full-throttle, synthesized narcotic experiences, complete with growling keyboards and seriously twisted breakdowns.
Fred Numf has performed across the world in the USA, China, Ukraine, Brazil, Indonesia, Lebanon, and among more than a dozen others. His diary counts major dance festivals like Dance Valley, Extrema, and the Amsterdam Dance Event. Fred has set the stage and opened for Tiësto as well as playing next to everyone from Sasha and Digweed to Ferry Corsten and from Deep Dish to Anthony Pappa.
Some of Fred’s most popular hit records include Fred Numf vs. Etienne Overdijk "Love is the Drug" and Fred Numf vs. Alvin Dorsey “Deeper Thoughts†feat. Jennifer K. He has also signed two tracks to Deep Dish's YO! label (a sub-label of Yoshitoshi USA) as Fred Numf vs. Etienne Overdijk “Disorientation†and “Driftingâ€. Fred has also made a name for himself with several hit remixes like Way Out West's “Mindcircus†and DJ Tiësto's “Lethal Industryâ€. On the album side, Fred has released three volumes of his popular Universal Language series, with the first two volumes released through Tiësto's Black Hole Recordings and the third via NEWS Belgium.
This year has been a busy year for Fred. He has just released a remix on Polytechnic Recordings called “Sleazeball†by Slighter (Fred Numf remix). Other remixes to look for this year will include Glockenspiel feat. Blackfeel Wite’s “Anny†on Spinnin’ Records and Foxxy’s “Arcadia†on Sensate Recordings. Fred will also be finishing a couple of brand new singles, “Directions†and “RAW†as well as his well awaited album, “Universal Generationâ€. The album will be released in the summer of 2008 on Tiësto's Black Hole Recordings label.
They say you've got to look to the past to find the future, and Fred Numf is already redefining those boundaries as well as pushing the limit in search of new sounds. A respected name in the scene with his easy-going nature and infectious positive attitude, Fred has worked hard for many years to spread his love for music with the people of the world, and he enjoys every second of it.
