About Me

"You will not find the words "hip hop"necessarily in the Bible or in the Quran but you are there in a very big way. Each of you in this very powerful and revolutionary hip hop community may have only wanted to make a good song and make a great impact, but maybe you are not aware that you have been chosen to lead. You are the most courageous generation that we have ever had. You are the strongest generation that we have ever had. You are the most fearless generation that we have ever had, but your courage and your fearlessness are being used by the enemy so that you will destroy each other." -MLF....

ABOUT US: We are the response to a worldwide cultural epidemic... Based in the Millions More Movement Local Organizing Committee of Flint, MI the Ministry of Arts and Culture is one of the nine ministries that compose the Millions More Movement. We are a revolutionary task-force recruiting local artistic talent to galvanize our intellectual and creative minds in a worldwide effort to regain control over all facets of our creative expression. Its bigger than hip-hop though hip-hop's influence and true cause is a phenomenal component in this mission. The Ministry of Arts and Culture is about recognizing the healing power of the arts on a massive scale, transcending far beyond the block into the poverty stricken villages of Africa all the way to the graffiti stained alley ways of China. We must recognize music as not only the art of organized sound but as a universal language inseparable from the human condition. We are indie labels putting our nickels and dimes together to spread consciousness. We are the beautiful and not so loveley snapshots of our historic and modern day struggle. We are the scratch on the turn table of cultural warfare. We are every movement that is formed to bring about a change. We are ONE. ONE JOURNEY, ONE PEOPLE, ONE STRUGGLE... **************************** "the power of Hip-Hop is greater than we know. I mean, think about it – black people have never created something that was two-dimensional. The blues was more than entertainment, it helped us. Jazz is not just entertainment, it helped us. We have never created anything that was just entertainment. When someone uses the argument, ‘Man, it’s just a song.’ Naw, we’re not capable of creating just on that level. It might be cool if we could but our stuff moves people – it moves people. And if your song can move people to dance, it could move people to think, it could move people to grow? I mean that’s Stevie Wonder and Sly Stone realized. Everything has a spirit and anything coming from us is filled with our spirit and our spirit is strong you know? It generates the entire generation. That’s the crazy thing – that cats are writing songs for their block and not realizing that the entire world is dancing. So if cats looked up for one minute and was just like, “Hey, entire world”, and addressed it in anyway they could bring about just about anything. Cuz cats are listening." -SAUL WILLIAMS MyGen Profile Generator
