Del Strain

A Scottish Disadent who has been in London since 89 and got into Stand Up 5 years ago reaching the final of the Hackney New Act Competition on my 5th gig.-Since then to date as well as 4 major competitions in my first 2 years i am a paid act doing a solid 20 minutes set and am a Jongleurs act as well as paid gigs from the Stand to the Comedy Cafe to the Glee and Banana Cabaret and the Kings Head in the South regularly working all over the UK and has established himself Giging for Off The Kerb as a Act or a Compere as well as regular weekends at Gigs all over the UK and has been doing longer sets up to a Hour..-I also have written sketchs for TV and had work on a itv Pilot and BBC1 Scotlands The Karen Dunbar Show which was a Palme Dor Nominee in 2006 so is interested in making TV as well as Stand Up And have also been making appearences on TV and Radio in the last 18 months fron ITV the 5 oclock show and SKY Poker playing as a Comedian to X FM and Talksport doing Stand Up and Podcasts as well as doing the Stand Up in Clubs all over the Country 2008 saw appearences on Sky Sports and Sky Live form the Adam and Eve from Birmingham for Red Tv. And in the last two years has been doing festivals including supporting the Buzzcocks and The Undertones as well as being on the Bill for Best of Scottish at the Fringe-Edinburgh 2008 at The Stand Comedy Club. 2009 Started and Continues to see Del as a Paper Reviewer and Guest on Talksport Radio with Ian Collins with Regular appearences and his Unique view of Britain. And Del Strain Comedian continues to gig all over the UK and enjoy performing and theirs talk of a Book as well on his Colourfull Life by Malcolm Hardee and Janey Godleys writer John Fleming which is in Development at the MomentCompere, Del Strain. I really liked this comic. He plays the part of a tough Glaswegian jail bird - he comes dressed in prison young offenders cloths and a pair of hand cuffs. He has the thickest glaswegian accent which is a joy to listen to - he reminded me of very early Billy Connolly. His gags are short and snappy and are about life on the tough estates of Glasgow. Members of the audience were asking me afterwards to get him back.-Martin Mullany Cheeky Monkey..The final act of the evening was Glaswegian Hardman Del Strain, our first impressions were “oh my god, he is the father of ‘The Wee Man’” His style, although that of the stereotypical ‘Glesga Ned’ was hilarious and not at all threatening even when he held us all for ransom. Although now living in London I hope he starts returning home to Scotland more and more and that we get the chance to see his full set.-Stand Comedy Review 2008.
