Freedom: more specifically, musical freedom. That is what Suns of the Void is about. In these days of homogenized, pasteurized, processed “musicâ€, freedom is not something you run across every day. A few years ago the journey began with the first of many jams that would be the impetus of the idea behind Suns of the Void. Playing with no preconceived ideas, just feeding off of the energy in the room, creating & flying by the seat of our pants. We knew we had to start documenting these jams to see if they really were as good to hear later on as they felt while they were being created. Although recording quality left a bit to be desired, we could still hear some good things from the performances. Little was said; chord changes or mood changes implied by hand gestures, head nods, & eye contact. Other times, the songs took on a more structured form, & eventually vocals were added into the mix. Still, most of the vocals are spontaneous, & created on the spot. Just like the playing: a constantly changing metamorphosis of moods & feelings. Ambient soundscapes cascading into full throttle guitar assault. The sounds on this page are just the tip of the iceberg, with much more to come later on.
