Band Members:Rap Entertainment PresentsTEAM HARDCORE.CKR, Raps hot, new artist was born, in Washington, D.C. to his mother, Gloria, who knew right from the beginning that he was a shining star destined to do great things. He grew up in the North East section of Washington, D.C. and attended Spingarn High School. He graduated with a promising future but was soon a major player in the high powered game of drugs and money which was prevalent on the urban street of D.C. CKR redirected his life and shifted his focus to his passion-music. Now at the age of 27, CKR is indeed doing great things.In 1996, CKR established his own record label, Rap Entertainment, LLC. In 1997, CKR’s Hip Hop Group, Team Hardcore released their first single, “Blood Oath”. Without any backing by a major record label or investors, he refused to accept money invested from drug dealers fearing a downfall similar to Murder Inc. and Death Row Records. CKR sold 1,000 copies in less than two weeks by soliciting barbershops, salons and the neighborhoods of D.C. The “Blood Oath” single sold for $5 and sales were lucrative, but his progress was slowed while he served jail time. When CKR came home, he released his first full length CD titled, “One Life to Live” featuring Team Hardcore, which is a collective of talented local artist.In 2002, CKR and long time partner Apoch videotaped themselves and sold the video and CD as a $15 combo package. The sales generated enough capital to allow them to begin to expand to other markets by traveling to major events and other areas including Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Virginia to sell and perform at All-Star games, college Homecomings and clubs.CKR organized a team of street salesman and sold 17,000 copies of “One Life to Live”. He also appeared on BET series 106 and Park. Team Hardcore’s second full length CD titled “The Arrival” has sold nearly 78,000 copies independently out of the trunk. With sells still climbing, Rap Entertainment has firmly established itself as one of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area’s hottest record label.When asked what the acronym CKR stands for, he replies in his laid back style, that the C is a breakdown for Chuck. The K is short for Kingpin, and the R is for Rapper. The Kingpin is for supplying the streets with music and hits. Most of the streets of D.C. know him as Chuck the Kingpin Rapper and he appreciates the love he receives as Chuck the Rapper, but he is also a talented Producer. CKR produced his Hip Hop group, Team Hardcore on both their debut release and their second CD “The Arrival” with the help of Producer Christopher Davis also known as Laid Baq. Laid Baq is a multi talented Producer who writes music, produces R&B, rap, & Gospel similar to those of Kanye West. “The Arrival features CKR’s smooth, potent lyrical style on tracks 11 ‘My Heart, My Soul, My Life’, 12 ‘I Can’t Believe You’re Gone Away’ and 5 ‘True Women’. CKR also performs collaborations on the CD with other local celebrities, KO (pronounced Kay-Oh) who also appeared on the BET series Freestyle Friday and PK which stands for Pretty Kita who appeared on the BET series Spring Bling, Black Jack the Southern Spitter who hails from Texas, Apoch, Profit, Diva, and Deuce. CKR has been rapping and recording professionally for over 7 years. He studies his craft and the business while focusing on becoming a Platinum Artist and successful music mogul. Music is his passion.The labels newest thriller is Team Hardcore’s New Album and DVD. Other upcoming solo projects and mixtapes include PK, Profit, Deuce, Black Jack, Diva & CKR.
