Steve Garner has produced around thirty series and documentaries for BBC Radio 4. He has worked with a diverse range of artists including Sir Roger Moore, Humphrey Lyttelton, Geoffrey Palmer, Susan George, Jimmy Carr, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Barbara Windsor, David Baddiel, Bernard Cribbins, Reece Shearsmith, Ken Dodd, Ricky Tomlinson and Bill Pertwee.He has interviewed hundreds of people from all walks of life including a British woman who played tennis with Ghandi and an Irish singer who performed for Hitler. His show business interviewees include the names Rowan Atkinson, Bruce Forsythe, Richard Curtis, Nicholas Parsons, Peter Sallis and Alison Steadman.In the late 90’s he produced and presented many shows for BBC local radio, and still occasionally guests on local programmes. In 2005 he co-presented the BBC GMR Lounge and regularly contributes reviews for the Manchester BBC Online web pages.For BBC Radio 4 he has produced comedy and music documentaries, including the series ‘Painting The Clouds With Sunshine’ presented by Humphrey Lyttelton, the two part series ‘Leave ‘Em laughing’ – The Roy Castle Story, and Woody Allen - The Cabaret Years and a one off tribute to W.C. Fields presented by Geoffrey Palmer.As a full time member of BBC staff he has provided production support on many other Radio series and programmes, including Counterpoint with Paul Gambaccini. In recent years he has worked in television as production assistant and researcher on ‘A Conference of Cool’ – The Story of The Rat Pack’ and also TV’s Finest Failures presented by Phill Jupitus.Away from the BBC he is Marketing Officer for The Variety Club (North West) and hosts and organises many music and charity events around the region.I have real passion for Swing and Jazz music and write a column for Big Band World Magazine.

Woody Allen, Kevin Spacey, Enya, Juliette Binoche and people who have worked with Frank Sinatra.Most of the people I would like to meet are now sadly no longer with us. Audrey Hepburn, Laurel & Hardy, Grouch Marx,Eric Morecambe, Roy Castle,Sammy davis JNR, Louis Armstrong, The Three Stooges and Jack Lemmon.
