About Me

I'm an introvert who loves music, reading and movies. Is that enough? No? Ok ... Ummm I guess this goes in the interests section anyway. I'm the second of four children. I was raised in Horsham, Victoria, which is a rural town that had a lot to offer children in regards to exploration. I remember lots of swimming, riding bikes out into the country to catch frogs, lizards and yabbies. I'd only watch and then run away when my older brother caught rabbits. Still do in that sort of situation ... yeah. I guess I was a real tomboy back then. I was a fish in water. Loved it and obtained every rank and medal there was to get by eight. At six a swimming coach approached my Mum (after a school swimming carnival) about training me professionally. My Mum being a Taurian who loved sleep more than 5:30 am training schedules, said no. In a way I'm glad about that because it was a joy and I'd have hated it if it became work. My main sport ended up being softball, which I was ok at and won a few awards. My positions being pitcher, first or third baseman. I was selected for the Victorian team at 14 and three months later moved to Darwin so my softball career was short and sweet. I was a late bloomer and it was about this time that I finally hit puberty and grew breasts. Most of my friends to this point were boys and dang ... did that all change ... How I felt about them did not change. I actually had to beat up my best mate to get the message home to not touch. Originally, I did not want to move to Darwin and when we did ... I really liked this young growing city as a community, but found it socially hard to belong to any one type of social group at school and moved around from group to group - both popular, geeks, norms or just sat alone and read. Each group had its social and entertaining factor and basically it all depended on my mood where I'd end up. Anyways ... I grew up, became more confident, found and made many friends and made the move back south to Victoria at 27. The 90's were a bit of a blur as I was at my most social. Moving on ... I started my own business, a bookstore and continued to do desktop publishing on the side. Moved onto working on a newspaper and have ended up working in tertiary education for the last 12 years. Yadda, yadda, yadda ... much water and a few gfs under the bridge I am now 42. Oh, and I like to travel ... see below slideshow for pics I've taken on my trips abroad.
