About Me

Big House Arts has been working in Walton Prison for over ten years. Prisoners are involved in creating and producing their own original music which they perform to audiences of fellow inmates, staff and invited guests from the community. All music produced is supported by 4 Bar Music who come into the prison and work in collaboration with BHA. Over the last two years prisoners involved in BHA projects have produced over twenty-five original songs recorded on a portable studio set up in a stockroom - but the quality is tip-top! Big House Arts challenges offending behaviour and creates opportunities for social and personal development through the Arts. BHA programmes include: Music, Audio/Sound Production, Writing for Stage/Radio/Screen, Performance, Drama, Poetry and Film Production.Collaborative projects with 4 Bar Music have produced three albums so far: NO LABEL 2006 BRANDED 2007 THE COLLECTIVE 2007Big House Arts is externally funded
