Click here to post this on your page or 'blogWelcome back to 1987/88 time-travellers.The Outlaw Traveller was inspired by Kerouac's On the Road, and started his travels thirty years after its release. The Outlaw tramped his way round Europe and the Middle-East during 1987-88, so this year is the twentieth anniversary of his travels.Guns n' Roses' Appetite for Destruction had just been released, and Welcome to the Jungle often played in his head when sleeping rough in cities. He travelled rough and partied hard, which often got him into trouble. The hobo lifestyle of scruffiness, beer, cards, fighting and getting run out of lawless ghost towns inspire parallels with the Spaghetti Westerns he'd grown up with, and he became the Outlaw Traveller. The journey ended ignominiously for the Outlaw at the European football championships in Germany.
