Eric Siereveld is a Cincinnati native and a graduate of Morehead State University where he majored in Music Education. Eric has been involved with his own Quintet, Quartet and Trio and groups led by local musicias in Bloomington, Morehead and Cincinnati. Eric plays locally in Cincinnati, Bloomington, Morehead, Lexington, Louisville area. He performs in the pit of many theatre companies including the Morehead Theatre Guild, MSU Players, and Showbiz Players. Eric also Performs regularly with Don Steins and the Powerhouse Boogie Band in the Cincinnati area. Eric has also had the honor of performing with some of the best musicians in the country including Pat Harbison, Mike Hackett, Gordon Brisker, Greg Abate, Dave Hazeltine, Tom Taylor, Jason Tieman, Tyrone Wheeler, Paul Piller, Mike Meloy, Denis DiBlasio, Steve Davis, Gordon Towell, Jamey Aebersold, Steve Snyder, Vince DiMartino and several others. Eric's primary trumpet teachers include Greg Wing, William Adam, Joey Tartell, and Pat Harbison. He studied jazz with Gordon Towell and David Baker, and Jazz/Piano with Steve Snyder. He has also undertaken Arranging and Composition lessons with Brent Wallarab. In recent news, Eric was recognized as an Outstanding Soloist at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in February 2007. He also competed in the 2007 and 2008 National Trumpet Competition in both the Solo Jazz Division Finals and the Trumpet Ensemble Competition. Eric is currently working on his masters at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he is pursuing a Masters in Jazz Studies.Eric is available for freelance work in all areas of trumpet playing in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and anywhere else he's needed!Feel free to contact me about gigs, or private lessons.
