MIDNIGHT winds

About Me

The Midnight Winds is a Los Angeles based woodwind quintet. Their diverse performances include countless premieres, outreach programs and can be heard on several short-film soundtracks. 2008 marked the ensemble’s first international tour where they presented concerts and workshops throughout Poland. In California, they maintain a strong relationship with the Polish Consulate of Los Angeles and the Polish Music Center where they frequently collaborate with Polish artists and composers. They have been featured guest artists at the Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles, California Institute of the Arts, LACMA’s “Sundays Live”, an educational outreach residency through Orchestras of Pasadena and quintet-in-residence for Chamber Music Sedona. With a strong track-record of Los Angeles premieres to their credit, the ensemble recently premiered a new commission by Emmy award winning composer Steve Cohn, a work written specifically for them. Previous joint efforts include performances with Los Angeles ensembles such as Tonoi and Madeline Flash. They were selected by Young Artist International to appear in recital throughout Southern California in 2008.
