About Me

What crazy but wonderful days they were! I was a poophead mostly but they always bit the bullet and forgave me! I admit it. I was a wildman hurricane just blowing through town and milkin' it for all it was worth. I also admit that I had a damn good time too! We have long since gone our separate ways. We all stayed friends but staying in touch was not like it is today. I often wonder where everybody is. I know where some have ended up for sure. I know a little more than I used to about myself, who and where I am. For now. I miss them all. However......Jamie Brantley, Howard Simpers, Steve (Snee) Brantley, Paul Brantley, Big-B (Mike Brigham), Sam-buh Harris, David Dosher (Dosh), George Sykes, Jim Autry (kin to Gene) Mike Bryant, Drake White (Zeke), Blair Simmons, Steve Morse, Andy West, Gilbert Frayer, Marc Parrish, Butch Giusto, Bruce Dees, Alan Cooke, David Perper, Steve Smith, Mark Perper, Buzz Clifford, Dickie Cox, Bart Bell, Kevin Dorey (Honorary Buzzud), Chuck Baker, Michael B. Leonard, Tommy Whitcher, Kim Vaughan, Alton Rodgers, Jack Stewart, Tony Schweitzer, Cisco Pabon, Dixie Dooley, Randy Johnson, Mark Jones, Ronnie Lane, Tommy Cashwell, Don Mathews, Rex Miller, Roy Smith, Rene and Judy Wolfe, Andy McCraw, Wax Beaner's, Walter L. Jowers (who's right hand was always a blurr), Wayne Capps, Johnny Carr, The DEUCE/Robbie Ducey, Gene Watkins, Johnny Hensley, Ronnie Ensley (Hot and Nasty), Greg Grisham, Uncle Tom McHugh, Henry Wynn, All of "Nobody's Children", Mike Dodaro, Ronnie and David Buskirk, Nathan Arvin, Danny Holsenback, Uncle Jimmy McHugh, Jerry Sheehan, Teddy O'Connor, Joe Garren (of "Joe Banana and His Bunch"), Steve Mulherin, Louis Mulherin, Bobby Gerardot, Steve Davidowski, Steve Mitchell, Bill Tolbert and Michael Farabee, all of the Pittman clan, Vernon Kalinowski, Harold Mitchum, Pat MacNamara AKA(micropterous salmoides salmoides), The Caneda's and Finis Messick, Joey McCoy, Joel McKinney (for singing one of the oldest songs in my archives, where's the cowbell solo, man?) Frank & Lorraine Blanchard, The Zaird (Keith Pollard), Jake Pollard, James Potts, Seb Sacious (AKA: Bruce Balk), The Hook (who plays with Brad Paisley now), The Hatch (Tee Bagnanimous), Marc and Mike Ferguson, Hoppie Vaughan, Bill and Chris Goss (and family) Michael Feniello, Frank Whitfield, Paul Snyder, Burt Rayburn, Edmund Kida and of course my brother and mentor Tommy (who made it fun to learn and develop musically among other things.) And NEVER forget the biggest influence on my life and whom I inherited my talent from...MY MOM, Sally McHugh/Brittingham. They will all remain forever in my heart and in my memories. I'll think of twenty or more after I'm through. (aren't the violins lovely?)How SWEET is it to hear Howard's eerie piano work on Bottom Dollar? There will never be another beautiful and creative soul like his in THIS lifetime and there have been none that I have encountered since he moved on. Thanks for your always amazing fingerprints on our music my old friend. God must have said, "I keep the piano over there my son! Play whatever you feel. Heaven sounds more heavenly, now that you've come home!" You guys know what I mean.We can add Harold Mitchum to the musicians in Heaven now. You had a beautiful soul here on Earth!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Right now Frank is with the band "The BTU's" Featuring Steve Mitchell on lead guitar (Shreds like a paper shredder with the IRS knocking at your door) so fast on a right handed guitar played left handed that he sometimes breaks the sound barrier. Be prepared for a sonic BOOM! He's a chordal whiz and sometimes sounds like a whole band by himself! Amazing to behold! Bill Tolbert plays drums like a freight train coming at you at well over 90 MPH! Excellent lead and harmony vocalist who also adds to the song list with some of his own originals. Always on top of his game and a fun person to hang with at all times! He's as gentle as a lamb but can eat you up like a LION when he's hungry folks! Mark Jones! What can I say? Bass player extraordinaire, funky like Bootsy, RAWKUS like Dusty from ZZ TOP and magical like Jaco Pastorius! Thanks Robbie Ducey, the up and coming Kingfish of the Blues of "The Robbie Ducey Band." for loaning him to us when you're having a night off (which is almost never.) Mark has a stratospherical voice for those high notes the rest of us choke on (except for Bill) and has a style that's sweet and spicy at the same time. Excellent on harmonies too! All in all. I'm lucky to be part of such a MONSTER of a band! "The BTU's" are cool as ice but hotter than lava fresh from the volcano ya'll!
Influences: Steely Dan, Gentle Giant, Crusaders, Zappa, Beatles, Steve Morse, Derek Trucks, ZZ TOP, Allman Brothers, NRBQ, Paul Rodgers, Delbert, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Tower of Power, Eric Clapton, Robbie Ducey Band, Shameless Dave and the Miracle Whips, The Blues Brothers, Eric Johnson, Los Lobos, Andy West, Jeff Berlin, Howard Simpers, Brantley Bros., Robben Ford, Jeff Beck, Led Zep, James Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel, Mac MacAnally, etc. I bet I'll think of several more after I finish this edit. God never let us get bored did He? You name it, we dig it, as long as it kicks ass!
Sounds Like: Some new songs for a little variety and change of pace. Hope you enjoy these newbies. Spice of life kind of idea! If you've heard 'em before, you're definitely showing your age and the fact that you're not senile just yet! As for "sounds like", I stole from everybody I loved. You know the old addage. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery! I'm a very sincere thief! I'm only very small and life flows on within me and without me.
Record Label: The one that goes around the hole in the middle.
Type of Label: Indie

Remember?

Since I rarely listen to my own music anymore after so many years of thinking it can always be improved and constantly analyzed or re-thought-out or feeling unhappy that it wasn't magical enough, I sl...
