Jerzy Główczewski

Jerzy Glówczewski -
a graduate of the Katowice Academy of Music at the Faculty of Jazz and Light Music. At the moment he is a saxophone teacher at the Academy. He co-operated with many groups: BASZTA (a special award at the festival "Jazz nad Odra"), ERGO BAND, Grazyna Lobaszewska and Jarek Smietana in the EXTRA BALL formation. He performed at jazz festivals: Reno (Nevada/USA), Barceley Jazz Festival (California/USA) and Jazz Ost East (Norymbergia/Germany). He was awarded first prize at the All-Polish Competition of Jazz Interpretation. He cooperates with Alex Band with which he made several recordings and with many jazz musicians (Zbigniew Lewandowski, Eryk Kulm, Marek Ba..ata). For many years he has been participating in recordings of Zbigniew Preisner's film music, including "Requiem for My Friend".
