Vicky Almazidu

Vicky Almazidu is a jazz singer,educator,recording artist and lyricist. She was born in Bulgaria,although her family is Greek. She studied at the Bulgarian Music Academy,majoring in Jazz Performance. She then moved to Greece where she became an educator,a voice instructor with 25 years of experience and the founder of the 1st Jazz Vocal Class in Thessaloniki,Greece,at the Sychrono Conservatory Of Thessaloniki. Her students are distinguished professional musicians and have earned international awards and scholarships to the best colleges in the world such as Berklee College Of Music and more. Besides her legendary career as a voice teacher,she leads a brilliant career as a jazz singer and recording artist.She has collaborated with jazz legends such as: Milcho Leviev,(Grammy award winner),Billy Cobham,Peter Erskine,Valeri Kostov,Theodossi Spassov,Giotis Kiourtsoglou, Antony Donchev,Oleg Chaly and many more. She has released 2 albums,the first entitled"Dreams",which was released in Bulgaria and the second one,entitled"Quiet love" which she recorded with the legendary pianist/composer/arranger,Milcho Leviev. This was a very successful combination and they have been music partners ever since. Vicky is working on her third album inspired by her collaboration with Milcho,singing Milcho's masterful and complicated compositions,in her unique style.She is also working on a project of jazz standarts with ethnic/balcan influences. Vicky is currently teaching masterclasses at the New Bulgarian University and performing with Milcho Leviev and other legendary jazz artists,all over Europe. / .
