I suppose it all began when my father died. My pack was afraid of being discovered, so we moved from West Virginia to the suburbs of Maryland. I attended the high school there with the others around my age in the pack. They were boys, and they called themselves "The Five." Personally, I was rather sick of them by this point. So I guess you could say I was looking for something else. That's when I met Aiden.
The whole Aiden-thing began when I read a poem he wrote about werewolves in the school newspaper. So I thought that he would understand. But I was wrong. When I showed him what I was, he completely freaked out. Then he tried to kill me with a silver bullet. Silver kills us if it touches an open wound, as it forms a chemical reaction with our blood. Needless to say - the relationship didn't work out.
If you didn't guess by this point, I am a loup-garou, or what you might call a werewolf. The nearer to the day of the full moon, the harder it is to resist transforming, though it can be done at will. However, we must transform on the night of the full moon. This is not a bad thing - I love the change. My kind enjoys a sense of freedom that humans cannot even begin to imagine.
After realizing that Aiden and I were too different to make a relationship work, I came to terms with what I denied all along. Gabriel, the leader of the pack, and I were meant to be together.
The Five created a lot of trouble for the pack, and eventually we all fell apart. Gabe and I recently learned about this other pack living in the small town of Forks, Washington. They are slightly genetically different then us, but similar in the ways that matter. So the remaining members of our pack moved to Forks in attempt to combine our ways of life.
