To recreate the sound of a legendary band is a task filled with great responsibility. Trying to recreate the sound of Pink Floyd is considered sheer lunacy. Few bands have that many die-hard fans that will pin you to the wall for the least mistake. Few bands has a greater legacy than Pink Floyd, - music that has meant so much to so many. The Pink Floyd Experience has managed to recreate this very sound. The band came together after the guys saw Pink Floyd perform at Valle Hovin, Oslo, in 1994. From day one it was clear that they wanted to recreate Pink Floyd’s live sound from the 70’s. Everything is based on a deep philosophy of being as true to the original sound as possible, - it’s not enough just to play convincing versions of the songs, all the little details needs to be perfect. The band has spent countless hours studying old live recordings and of course the classic albums. Different versions of a song is compared with each other, sliced, cut and pasted together. The result is frightenly authentic.
The setlist includes a wide variety from the 70’s Pink Floyd catalogue. The demanding fan will get gems like Echoes, Careful with that Axe Eugene and Dogs, while more well known pieces from Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall has a natural place. Both Dark Side and WYWH are also performed in their entirety on several occasions.
The show combines Pink Floyd’s original sound effects and films projected on a large circular screen. An intimate setting of light and smoke makes a concert with The Pink Floyd Experience into a unique tribute to one of the greatest bands in rock history.
