About Me

In the mid 1990's, three good friends and co-workers would meet up every week at each other's houses and just mix records and put them on tapes. One of these men was a DJ in tune with the underground dance music scene and rubbed elbows with the likes of DJ's Frankie Bones and Adam X among others. Another was a DJ heavilly into reggae and hip hop from all parts of the country and became an instant sensation at age 16 when he spun at one huge bash at Manhattan Beach at the beginning of the summer of 1994 using improvisions that allowed him to spin with no electrical power from the city. Finally the third was among the immediate area's most popular rappers who dabbled slightly with DJ work and was known by quite a few names from MC Too Tall to Johnny Muscle to 40oz to Long John to his actual Christian name. He is also a former member of a little known crew called United Generation While PHO may have never published any actual songs and the two DJ's have both been semi-retired since 2000, MC Too Tall as a solo performer however, did get to create two classics that pretty much capture that PHO flavor. 1996's "Live From Steeplechase Park" and 1998's "Bring The Drama" developed an almost cult-like following. It doesn't end there! September 2007 came the release of one of the few indipendant label albums to out do the mainstram Hip Hop artists in the indipendant stores. Who needs FYE and big name labels? The album is "The Conglomerate" represented by future classic single "Say Yeah!" On the one year anniversary of the booming debuit of "The Conglomerate" came the CD album titled "Industrialization" and one song off that album is the Bassline version of "Remix This". This hot joint has been blasted at clubs like V-Lounge, Studio B and APT since early 2008 and possibly right at this very moment as well! MCTT has gotten a little help from longtime friend and fellow PHO member, DJ Spoke. Listen and ENJOY!www.crownedeagleent.org
