Reggae Vibes Productions Inc-- is a reggae music record label and is operated by Executive Producer Michael “Jahmikes” Coburn.The artist roster includes singers: Courtney Melody, Mahlon Stewart, Nico, Prince Theo, Truman Chewstick, dancehall artist: Simpleman and Rallybop.Jahmikes, established his career with a remarkable hit single “Modern Girl” by Courtney Melody in 1986. He then followed up with “Sudden Attack” by Luciano in the 90’s and has became one of the premier producers in reggae music today. The Grammy nominated producer of Kymani Marley (“Many More Roads”) has sealed the respect of the industry with consistent chart busting hits. His catalogue of singers includes more than 40 of the most prominent names in reggae music including but not limited to: Beres Hammond, Luciano, Sean Paul, Sizzla, Elephant Man, Anthony B, Wayne Wonder, Dennis Brown, Johnny Osbourne, John Holt, Kymani Marley, Toots, Greggory Isaacs, Lady Saw, Gyptian, Jah Mason, Tony Curtis, Lukie-D, former member Lelee of the sensational R & B group (SWV-Sisters With Voices) and many others.
Music that some artist and/or audience find satisfactory, Jahmikes tend to embellish with modifications in his uncompromising strive for excellence. He has a no non-sense approach to the selection and development of artiste and musical material. He is very skillful at creating pulsating rhythms and becomes an immense source of energy, creativity and positive vibes while in the studio. It is a sterling talent, the way he is able to bring out the best from the artist that work with him.
The 2001 Grammy nominated “Many More Roads” album by Kymani Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley artist of the century, according to Time Magazine and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a great example of Jahmikes outstanding productions. Bob Marley's One Love album was named album of the century and the song itself (One Love) was named song of the century. As the Marley's sought to continue their proliferation, they pursued the expertise of the acclaimed Master Producer all the way to earning major record sales and awards. The album featured hits such as “The Strength of A Lion” and “Many More Roads.” Lelee former member of the R&B group “SWV-Sisters With Voices” most notated for hits like “Weak”, “Right Here”, “I'm So into You”, “Rain” and “You're The One”, drafted Jahmikes to produce her first reggae album. One of the singles titled "BABY BABY" featuring Showki-Ru was later released on the Guala Guala Riddim compilatin CD.
Jahmikes also produced and released solo albums like Wayne Wonder "Schizophrenic" in 2001, Jah Mason "Unlimited" in 2003, Tony Curtis "Ready For The World" in 2005 and Courtney Melody "Serious Business" featuring hit song "Just Like The Rain" in 2008.
He is also credited for notable 1-drop reggae riddims as illustrated on "Strictly Vocals" Vol 1 in 1999 featuring Jahcure, Lukie-D, Tony Curtis, Glen Washington, Tony Tuff, Toots, John Holt, Mahlon Stewart and others. Jahmikes pulls together some of the best veteran singers in the industry with Gregory Isaacs, Yami Bolo, Toots Hibbert, Luciano, Dennis Brown, Tony Curtis, Johnny Osbourne and Wayne Wonder, Mikey General, Khani Jones, Kymani Marley and Mahlon Stewart with "Strictly Vocals" Vol 2 in 2002 . Laura Gardner of jahworks.org says "Whether a spiritual or lovers slant, all of these tracks effuse spirit and emotion. There is no monotony. There are no tracks to fast forward. This is what reggae music is all about!"
Jahmikes is also credited for dancehall compilations like the "Nude Riddim" in 2002 featuring Sean Paul, Cecile, Tanya Stephens, Lexxus, Lady Saw, Mr Easy, Josey Wales, Tony Curtis, Simpleman, Madd Anju and others. He teamed up with Canadian based CESOUL MUSIC in 2004 for the release of the "Guala Guala Riddim" featuring Vybz Kartel, Sizzla, Lady Saw, Daville, Tanya Stephens, Spragga Benz, Rally Bop, Carl Henry, Wayne Marshall, Lelee, Showki Ru and others. Three music video were created from this riddim; Rally bop song "JAMAICA", Carl Henry song "HOT GAL" featuring Rally Bop and "Guala Guala Medley" featuring Vybz Kartel, Tanya Stephens, Wayne Marshall & Rally Bop.
In 2008 he teamed up with Fractal Ent to release the "Hardcore riddim" featuring Courtney Melody, Ras Shiloh, Prince Theo, Cutty Ranks, Carl Henry, Jah Mason, Luciano, Bushman, Gyptian, Truman, Nico and others in 2008. *Key tracks include: "This Place" by Luciano, "In My World" by Bushman, "Warning" by Gyptian "Never Born A Killer" by Courtney Melody and "No Heart" by Cutty Ranks.
