Canute

About Me

We are a three-piece band who are based in London. We make music. .Visit our profile on iiinside.... Some praise for the band:"Canute have a great guitarist. Song after song, interesting, abrasive and damn-near arresting guitar sounds are deployed for maximum effect ... It also recalls iLIKETRAiNS, the Leeds-based plodders who continually mistake a crescendo for an actual tune. Canute need not suffer such a fate" Sandman magazine "The music twists, and turns; it's urgent, menacing; intense. The vocalist/guitarist hits his Fender Jazzmaster ferociously, and the effect can be heard in the dissonant, reverberated wails that are coming from the amplifier. The bass and drums pound and throb, driving this grand piece of music to the foundations...As the song builds to its climax, I am left speechless, and with intense goosebumps. The band are supposedly named after the Great King Canute, who attempted to hold back the tide and waves with his bare hands; I can't think of a more fitting metaphor for this band and the music they make." Joe Dallasandro, fan.
"their set proves to be one of the best musical experiences out there at the moment. For an experience you will never forget make sure you see this band." Alex Brade, Origin Promotions"As completely captivating a unit as you could ever chance upon. Only one problem...not enough live outings. I hope with their relocation to London will be a new found impetus to get out and find the audience your music deserves. People must see Canute!" Influences: Hope springs, and runs to the door.
she has the key, and wants to see it all.
she's fearing that the end will come too soon, without a chance to shine. and so, in haste, she opens the door, and leaves all her past behind.
The intense hum, the frightening stir, the fear is mechanical, and does not communicate with her.
Everything is desolation, desolation, deprivation! The snow is beautiful but deadly. Cavernous, mesmeric, cavernous. She wants to leave, but is compelled to stay.
“I want to stay here”,
she says.
A little rowboat in the middle of the ice lake. An old man inside the boat inviting her in...
“Nothing to fear; No reason to fight.” He says
Hope fights the tide but the words of the man wash over her; “Nothing to fear; no reason to fight”
Hope leaves it all behind.
