Skull Thrash are a Metal band that derive influences from old and new school Thrash metal combing the two to create a powerful and technical assault on the senses! Lightning fast riffs and thunderous drumming make the band a formidable change to a scene populated by the same-old metal styles.

Gigs like this are fascinating for two reasons: the chance to see one of the UK's hottest prospects before a rise to stardom, but it's also a glimpse at upcoming talent and potential stars of the future. Students of Pantera's raw groove and Judas priests supercharged wail, local lads Skullthrash conjure a sufficient fury early on.

Skullthrash do exactly what it says on their oh-so-metal tin, and they do it very well. They boast more rolling toms and quadruple kick drums than at a Joey Jordinson car boot sale and twin shredding guitarists who seem to have large radioactive spiders surgically bonded to their hands to create a super hybrid capable of 1000 frets per second. To this you can add a frontman who can barely contain himself, working the crowd like a pro: wielding a half mic-stand à la Monsieur Mercury, but calling to mind a fledgling Halford doing Dickinson (I'm not insinuating anything went on between said rock legends before the lawsuits start!). Their set flies by and has some of the crowd cowering at the back while the more gung-ho are a pile of flailing hair and limbs at the front. A scarily good young band reviving a strain of metal much missed round these parts.
