About Me

As London’s Premier Recycled Clothing Company, Junky Styling believes in, wait for it, recycling for our future! Our design and production methods respect the environment in which we live and like everyone should, we try and make a difference.

Being Londons premier recycled clothing company When you study the basic shape of a T-Shirt and in particular the fabric that it’s made of, you realise the potential of what you could do with an old one that has lost it’s shape but still holds a place in your heart.
Junky Styling is all about taking old/worn/dated/shameful clothing and giving it new life and a new shape. Whether it’s stuff we find at charity shops and jumble sales or beloved items of clothing our customers bring into our shop for ‘Wardrobe Surgery’, we’ve been happily breathing new life into various textiles for ten years. We’ve made a business of it, but you could do it for just the price of your time and creative energy.
We sell our brand of original recycled clothing in our shop on East London’s Brick Lane, which has been our creative hub for the last ten years. We have a small team of very talented designers and garment constructers (including us), located in the studio at the back of the shop working away on stock for the shop floor, wholesale orders, ‘made to order’ commissions or Wardrobe Surgery, this is when a customer brings us their old clothes to be redesigned by us. Our customer base has expanded and grown vastly over the years but our first ever customer, from when we set up with a stall in Kensington Market, still shops with us.
Junky Styling specialises in taking old suits and reinventing them into beautiful coats, jackets, dresses, skirts, corsets etc and full range of accessories that make up two collections every year. We usually showcase these collections during London Fashion Week at our own ‘off-schedule’ catwalk show and in Paris, but more recently at the stands at the official London Fashion Week held at the Natural History Museum. Through these events we sell our garments to other boutiques worldwide. Through this book we would like to inspire people all over the world to start recycling old clothes.
Creating collections for us involves themes – Ideas to be showcased this season yet worn well beyond. We create clothes that are sustainable and timeless, comparable only to wine that gets better with age !
