Melodia is a trans-atlantic musical duo composed of two sisters. Melodia's sound was established with the twang of electric guitar and the drone of accordion at the core, spun around half-asleep rhythms of xylophone, piano, guitar, banjo and mandolin ............................................................ ..................................Melodia is a project of compiling musical ideas, with the sisters sending recorded songs to each other on 4-track tapes through the mail when they're apart, and playing til their fingers ache when they're together.....................................Melodia's music is equally at home in the world of indie pop as in the world of Eastern European street musicians................................They are also a banjo-accordion street duo. They busk in the warmer months, with old-time European tunes, klezmer, and carnivalesque reveries. ************************************************************ ***** September 2008: Melodia is reunited in Europe!
