DJ CROOKID was born and raised in Upstate NEW YORK but has called London his base for the past few years, As a young boy he was classically trained to play the clarinet and to read sheet music-It was these MELODIC sounds that captured his spirit setting him off on his musical journey!CROOKID'S older brother played a big part on his road to becoming a DJ, by buying music equipment and letting him play around on the decks aswell as sneeking him into parties and clubs from the young age of (13) That's where his passion for DANCE music & HIP HOP took over & his amour for DJing commenced with him starting off playing in some of the smaller bars in NY & then the UK slowly building his name up as DJ he gradually started getting bookings for bigger and major events (SOUL VILLAGE WEEKENDER) aswell as promoting his own event alongside fellow DJ and good friend DJ TT (SOUL FEVER)..Before settling in the UK Crookid decided to travel around for a while, reaching London in 2006 the music bug returned with a vengeance and his love for DJing took over again, he found his way on to London's pirate radio station circuit starting on SELECTUK and now has residency every Sunday evening 6PM-8PM on one of Londo's finest UNKNOWNFM.NET, playing the best in Deep-Soulful-Minimal-Tech-Broken-Funky-Afro-Uplifting-Vocal HOUSE making it a smooth lifting and tight blending session/show for all his loyal listeners..MUSICAL INFLUENCES include the likes of
