I originally got my start in the music business back in 1987 as a freelance writer for hard rock magazines such as Livewire, Western Front News, and Hit Parader among others. In 1989, I began an internship with Rebel Management (Vain, Death Angel). I continued to contribute freelance articles to rock publications throughout the 90's. In 1999, I created Jeff Keller Management LLC in Sacramento, CA. Originally born out of my 1998-99 employment with underground rap label, Black Market Records, JKM began by managing notable rap artists such as Mr. Doctor (who has released 4 albums and has sold over 150,000 records to date, as well as charting Billboards Top 40 Rap Album chart with his second release Bombay, an album for which JKM was his representation). JKM also managed Triple Beam, a rap trio on Black Market who sold over 40,000 records throughout their 2 releases. Triple Beam worked with the likes of the legendary Bootsy Collins and E-40. In addition to Mr. Doctor and Triple Beam, I also acted as a consultant for multi-platinum Bay Area artist, SPICE 1.
In 2001, I focused my efforts
on securing national hard rock and metal artists, coming full circle back to where I started in the business.
