Born and raised in the Bay Area, SGD grew up in a house hold of musical talents. He was inspired by the musical guidance from his Father and SGD has been around music ever since he was born. From seeing his Father playing the piano and flipping the sticks on the drums, to his Uncle getting down on the dance floor moving to the grooves like James Brown.
SGD grew up listening to bands like The Temptations, Otis Redding, War, Malo, Santana, George Clinton and Parliament, Marvin Gaye, Kool and the Gang and the list goes on...
When he first started hearing the sounds of Hip Hop and Rap, he was inspired by Artists like, Run D.M.C., L.L. Cool J, Public Enemy, The World Class Wrecking Crew, N.W.A., E-40 and the Click, Digital Underground, 2 Pac and Master P.
SGD has focused towards perfecting his skills as not only a Rapper, but writer, song arranger and Music Producer.
His style of talents have been compared to as "The One Man Band". With an ear for music that compliments his vision to clean up his own image and the explicit lyrics often associated with Rap music.
