About Me
The band is called "The Last Call Orchestra".These are three songs I've recorded so far with Chris and Larry Gadler
in L.A. as part of a songwriting contract. this is my first experience with country/rock and I've really enjoyed working with these guys. Larry Gadler (Has played Bass for: The Flyin' Burrito Brothers
Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, many more)
and Chris Gadler (Tara Mckormicks Gangstas of love)are both incredible people with a long history of great bands and songwriting. Larry has been on every t.v. show and stage imagineable. From the Grand Ole Opry to Austin City Limits. Chris and I have toured together in other projects multiple times (I as a percussionist/guitarist/backing vocals). I am honored to be working with them and am very excited to finish the album and see where it is going to go. Some of the songs are already getting some attention in the States and in Europe. VIVA LA RENAISSANCE!
MesaI feel blessed to be a singer and instrumentalist with passion for music as a whole. I have gotten the chance to work with some amazing people in my career and still work with people I look up to and learn from every day. Currently I am working with Bass player Larry Gadler (Flying Burrito Bros., Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and many others) and his son, guitarist/songwriter Chris Gadler (Tara Mckormick and the Gangstas of Love) under a songwriting contract. I also sing in a project with Peter Distefano (Porno for Pyros)
Steve Perkins (Janes Addiction) and Zack Melang (Super Sonic Soul Pimps). Peter and Zak have been two of the most influential people in my life in the last few years and have stuck by me through a lot of my darkest hours. I am also currently (besides trying to build a successful concert series and tour company with Michael Beauchamp (Bofunk) and Global Music Project) working on an album of songs for my first solo set. I am always looking for bands and songwriters to collaborate with and never pass up the chance to get on stage and SING SING SING!!! Although I don't do any pole tricks and I can't dance so well I have been known to lose my trousers on stage.....If you see that happen please feel free to toss a dollar in my skivs!! I am part of an ever growing network of artists, musicians, poets, novelists, finger puppeteers, business persons, idealists, and dreamers whom have taken it on themselves to raise awareness for and about many different causes and charity organizations. I personally am working for the Global Music Project tour and it's sister charity's. In December of 2004 I and a friend of mine left Seattle washington to start a revolution of awareness. We took ferrys, walked, hitch-hiked, rode buses, trains, planes, and touring vans to reach our goal. That goal has not yet been realized but, the momentum gathered since the beginning has proven to be more than I ever imagined. With the guidance and hardwork of Michael Beauchamp (Bofunk) the dream of having an established D.I.Y, Indie, Self start, tour has finally come into perspective and become a tangible reality. We (myslef and Bofunk) are honored to be working under the Global Music Project name and Peter Fosso's ideals of making the world a better place through artistry. From the beginning "responsibility through artistry" has been my Mantra and from the beginning it has been supported by more than 100 bands and that number grows daily. So far, I have been surrounded daily by bands, managers, tour promoters, venders, merchandising companies, and artists whom with, I have learned to see the world in a much better light. The so-called sick world of entertainment has proven over and over again to be just the opposite. It has shown itself and the people in it have proven that within this industry beats a strong and compassionate heart. Like oxygen it has kept me alive moment by moment. I will work hard every day and know that around me always are people who are trying to explain the world as they see it. Whether that be through music, painting, sculpture, prose, poetry, interperative dance, or mime for that matter, they are the ones making this world feel and sound beautiful, angry, sad, murderous, painful, whatever....It is all the truth and quite possibly the ONLY TRUTH WE HAVE LEFT! To every single person in the world with a voice I say use it! Stand up for what is real and honest and forethright! I make a lot of mistakes and fall from time to time, but, I will not let my mistakes remove me from the eyes of those I care about. Only through music can I truly express myself. And, only through charity can I say we are one!!! VIVA LE RENAISSANCE Mesa (Robert James Owen)
