..
"Slides in hiding" which was once known as "Paige" was formed by Brian K. and Mike Naz. The two worked together and wrote a few musical pieces before Marcie AKA Rad Girl Marcie (as she was known in the South Bay Coffee House Circuit) and Kerry McPherson were brought in to further collaborate. Common influences included Billie Holiday, PJ Harvey, the Smiths, the Cure, Pixies, Portishead, Bjork, Cocteau Twins, Radiohead, the works of David Lynch & Angelo Badalamenti, and Bauhaus.
Over the years, the band played the Los Angeles local scene with bands such as His Name is Alive, Atlantic's Pet, Lava Diva, Babyland, Devics, Remy Zero, Eeenie Meenie, Sweet Trip, the Mur Murs, Scarnella, the Ethers, Samo, Incubus, Pachenko, Headlock Boxer, Claire's Audience, Lame Gut Feelings, Cuba Las Vegas, and Ten Cents. The band played at all the great local places Los Angeles had to offer such as the Whisky, the Strand, the Martini Lounge, the Dragonfly, Spaceland, the Troubador, Luna Park, Al's Bar, and Sacred Grounds.
The band released a limited edition EP titled "domicile". Following this release, in June of 2001, the band received the Artist Direct Online Music Award for Best Unsigned Alternative Band which was presented to them at the House of Blues by No Doubt, as well as a demo recording grant from Time Bomb Recordings.
August 2001, the band recorded a Radiohead cover of "No Surprises" for a tribute album.
October 2001, legal issues surrounding the use of the band name "Paige" led to the band dropping the name and ultimately disbanding.
Sometime in 2009 "Slides in hiding" will release some new material.
Stay tuned.
