PROTAGONIST is a record label started by Brendan DeSmet and Bill Tsitsos in December of 2006 in an attempt to support musical projects that we are interested in and inspired by, and as a chance for us to be involved with the scene in a more hands-on fashion. __ Our very first project to see release will be the truly amazing new
SOUVENIR'S YOUNG AMERICA "September Songs" 12" which will be available in March. Souvenir's play a haunting, driving, hypnotic brand of cinematic post-rock that will truly move you. If you are a fan of epic, driving, well-crafted music along the lines of Isis, Red Sparrowes, Conifer, Gregor Samsa or Tides, then this is your new favorite band! __The late spring will also see the unveiling of two more releases we are really excited about. The long awaited
ABSINTHE discography CD will finally come about after several years of the idea floating around, and we will also release the new
PYRAMIDS "Through the Hourglass" CD as well. Pyramids are an amazing band from Philadelphia whose emotional hardcore struck us right away when we heard it. Their first LP/CD is available from Paramnesia Records and Slave Union Records and it comes highly recommended. You should check out their website at: deconstructingpyramids.com for more information. This summer, we are incredibly excited to be releasing a split LP from
IN FIRST PERSON and
STORM THE BASTILLE which should be an exercise in all that passionate hardcore can really be, as well as a BENEFIT COMPILATION that we are keeping the details quiet on for now.
