Welcome! Thanks for viewing our page. Relay For Life is an overnight event in which teams of walkers or runners compete against each other to raise the most money. Teams consist of 8 to 15 people representing various businesses, civic groups, social organizations, church groups, or families. One member from each team is on the track at all times. While Relay for Life is in progress, team members camp out and enjoy entertainment and food, creating a community PARTY atmosphere. Various activities such as games for children, team games/challenges, live music, food, and much more are all present at the event. Local bands such as Spivey Crossing, Wayward Sons, Donna Beckham, and many others were onsite for West Relay 2006 & 2007. All funds raised benefit the American Cancer Society. 2007 was our second year and was a huge success. In 2006, we roughly $11,000 with the help of 6 teams. This year (2007) we raised a little over $27,000 and increased to 18 teams!!
