I hate these profile things...I either never know what to say, or I can't stop typing and you end up reading a novel!I am a lover of dance. I've been dancing since I was about 4 or 5 years old. Started out with 14 years of ballet training, and then dabbled in jazz and modern. I then found Flamenco which I've been doing for 10 years, and later on also found Middle Eastern Dance which I've been doing for 5 years. I teach belly dance at the Continuing and Advanced Beginner levels. I have completed Level 1 & 2 of Hadia's Middle Eastern Teacher Training Program, and have attended Hadia's Professional course twice. One day I have to get over to both Spain and Egypt to study my two dance passions more intensley! But until then, I try to take advantage of any workshops taught by internationally known dance artists.I've formed a Fusion Dance Troupe. We work mainly on Middle Eastern Dance choreography, but will start into fusion pieces combining middle eastern and flamenco dance. Eventually we may created fusion pieces with other dance genres as well. We hope to start dancing at small scale events,cultural festivals and/or charity events. At some point I will be looking for some musicians to join us. Guitarist and percussion (either Cajon or Dumbek). If anyone in the Toronto area knows of anyone else who has dabbled in any of these (flamenco guitar, dumbek, cajon), or is interested in learning...I'd like to hear from you! :)
