Born in New York City, Alain Alfaro has a unique vision on the world. He likes to describe his craft as being a story-teller through the medium of film. His directing influences range from Stanley Kubrick to Billy Wilder, Spike Lee, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg, etc. But his greatest inspirations come from the people he meets, life experiences, and just the world itself.He is a graduate from the College Of Staten Island with a BA in Cinema Studies. While studying film history and theory, Alain produced, wrote and directed numerous award-winning short films. After graduating, Alain took a hiatus from filmmaking and moved into the world of television as a production assistant (PA). As a PA, Alain worked on numerous television shows and feature films such as Law & Order, Third Watch, and The Producers. There he got to observe the various techniques involved in major motion picture production. He did that for almost three years before putting his editing skills into good use when he got hired at Music Choice in 2006. He is now a Producer at Music Choice television producing original content featuring artists such as Beyonce, Avril Lavigne, and Fall Out Boy. Alain has also interviewed artists such as Talib Kweli and Pharoahe Monch.Now, with a strong, hands-on education on various aspects of filmmaking, Alain has rendered himself ready to tell his stories. His first venture was a short experimental sci-fi film entitled Trek 183, which he wrote, produced, directed, shot, and edited by himself. After a year in post production, the film is finally complete and is seeking film festival attention. In addition to Trek, Alain has also just completed production on a half hour short love story entitled Waiting For Her, which he wrote, produced and directed. The film is currently in post production.
