About Me

Hey there :) I'm Cassie Lorraine. I'm sure you've heard about me.
I'd like to believe the best of me is something I have yet to see. I try to see the good in people, even if they are too busy searching for my flaws to see my heart. I agree with that whole 'live and let live' concept, and I follow it. I'm a distant star from perfection; I've done things that can't be labeled as intelligent, and hurt people that didn't deserve it. I won't judge you because it's not my place to, like it's not yours to judge me. I think that if you don't know someone, you shouldn't speak of them based on what you hear, or define them based on what you believe to be true. Take time to get to know the person before you form your opinions of them.
I believe that things find them when you need them the most, and for me, it's usually a song. Sometimes all it takes it one song to show you that someone else is feeling the exact same way you are. I dig lyrics that actually have meaning and purpose, and make me feel something when I hear them. I collect vinyls, and adore all the pops and skips they produce. I'm a junkie, and if you know any fantastic bands, please inform me and help feed the addiction :)
Our world is filled with so many things that make absolutely no sense. I'm tired of war, global warming, illiteracy, hypocrisy, poverty, cruelty to animals, prejudice, deforestation, homophobia, conformity, gossip, lies, insensitivity, ignorance, racism, misanthropy, caste systems, flippancy, genocide, and mostly HATE in our world. I don't believe in any of these things, because I don't see how they solve the problems they are supposed to fix.
Even with all the horrid things in our world, sometimes people step up. They rise above themselves, and do good things for other human beings, recognizing the fact that everyone of us is of equal worth. This causes me to believe wholeheartedly in brotherly love. However, I think that romance may be a caricature of emotions we wish to feel. I want to believe in it, but it currently remains a myth, a pleasant idea. I would like to think that there's a boy out there that's perfectly molded for me, but the rest of forever is quite a long time to be with someone. I'm not sure if two people are made for that. I don't use the words I love you carelessly, and I don't want to hear them disingenuously; the truth weighs more than pretty words. Oh, and I don't put out, so if that's what you're looking for, don't even waste your time :)People say love is the closest thing we have to magic, but isn't magic just an illusion?
I myself am made of flaws stitched together with good intentions. I believe in God, in people that try to do the best with what they have before they die, that this world could be more than it currently is, that fate won't let you lose something, or someone, you truly need, that what someone does to you is their karma, but how you react is yours. I believe in going green, (as I would adore it if my grandchildren could see a polar bear), in loving each day more than fearing it, in forgiving others because we are all disasters, and that letting go is sometimes the only way to hold on. I like to believe that I'm a pretty good person, but I'm not so sure if you would agree. So, let me change your way of thinking by proving it to you.
Let's be friends :)
"Perhaps we all give the best of our hearts uncritically to those who hardly think about us in return." -T.H. White.
"There seems to be a kind of order in the universe, in the movement of the stars and the turning of the earth and the changing of the seasons, and even in the cycle of human life. But human life itself is almost pure chaos. Everyone takes his stance, asserts his own rights and feelings, mistaking the motives of others, and his own." -Katherine Anne Porter.
"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing it's best, night and day, to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle, which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting." -E.E. Cummings.
"First they put away the dealers, keep our kids safe and off the street. Then they put away the prostitutes, keep married men cloistered at home. Then they shooed away the bums, then they beat and bashed the queers, turned away asylum-seekers, fed us suspicions and fears. We didn't raise our voice, we didn't make a fuss. It's funny there was no one left to notice when they came for us." -NOFX.
“I think of myself as an intelligent, sensitive human being with the soul of a clown which always forces me to blow it at the most important moments.”
