The SAFE foundation is a Cardiff based charity run by a group of delightful ladies who want to help lots of people in the developing world. That means making grants to communities that need them is the name of the SAFE foundation game, and we are particularly keen to sponsor initiatives that improve education programmes for kids who haven't got access to a conventional schooling system. We also make grants to other community establishments overseas who may be impoverished in some other way, including low incomes, no food, no water etc. It is important to us at the SAFE foundation that projects we choose to assist are run by indigenous people as, no matter how worldly we like to think we are, these communities have a long history and unique heritage that we don't wish to impose upon.We are currently supporting a project in Peraliya in Sri Lanka, which aims to reconstruct houses that have been damaged by the Tsunami, and for which the funding was retracted. We also aim to raise funds for community programmes in Tamil Nadu, India based on the needs of the Tribal people who live there.
