Drops and Silence is a duo since 2001.
We use to perform as "Drops and Silence - Guitar Duo", but we love to meet other musicians and tones. That's why we create "D. & S. meet drums", "D. & S. meet reeds", and so on...
We were "officially" born as a duo in 2001 with the recording of our CD
"Drops and Silence - Guitar Improvisations" , although we often had the chance to play together in the past.
In June 2002 we have been awarded as "Distinguished Musicians" (improvisations / compositions section) at the 12th edition of the
"Ibla Grand Prize International Competition".
In September 2002 we have performed as "Italian special guest" at Jazz Carnival Festival of Odessa (Ukraine).
In 2003 we have been playing here and there all over Italy. Furthermore we record our CD "Instant Bul", composed for the Human Dance Company of New York for its performances in Istanbul (Turkey).
In 2004 we have performed as a trio with Bruno Morello on alto sax at Walker Parish Church in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), at New York University and at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall in New York City, at Stella Boyle Concert Hall in Little Rock (Arkansas), at Vincenzo Bellini Institute of Music in Catania for the Lyceum Association.
In february 2005 we have recorded with the ensemble

"Drops and Silence - Guitar Compositions", more "composed" and progressive jazz oriented. With this work we have closed the cycle open in 2001 with the CD "Drops and Silence - Guitar Improvisations".
