ADA’s music plays on the extremes of multiple sounds, with Mahon’s vocals providing a jazzy edge to a sometimes experimental sound influenced by rock, metal and progressive acts like The Mars Volta, Coheed and Cambria and System of a Down.
Since forming in 2005, their style and lyrics have evolved covering subjects that challenge the socially constructed image of female-fronted rock. The most recent live-off-the-floor project reflects their interest in recording songs that stay true to their live performances, with some of their recently played venues being Toronto’s El Mocambo and Horseshoe Tavern.
The band is currently playing gigs in the Toronto area, and working on a short EP scheduled to be released in Spring 2008.
