About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Becoming a mother changes your very being. To love someone this intensely opens your eyes. You become sensitized once again. You become every child’s mother. When you read the paper or watch the news and see the war, the genocides, the poverty, the disease, you think of the mothers and their children who are suffering. You imagine what it must be like if it were you and your babies, starving, suffering and dying. The helplessness those mothers must feel, the fear, the rage, the sadness. When you think of their children dying, you think of your own children dying and your heart shatters into a million pieces, but that anguish probably can’t even come close to what those who have lost their children must go through. It is this gift that god has given mothers, the ability to empathize, that has the great potential to change the world. Oprah has said many times, “To be a woman born in America means you are one of the luckiest women in the world.” She is right. Our children are the safest, healthiest, and have the most opportunities than most other human beings on the earth. We must use our privilege for good. It is our responsibility as the most privileged women on the planet to help end unnecessary human suffering. To ignore the problem once we know it exists is inexcusable (“Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction” -Faithless). What does that teach are children? We must act. We must start a cycle of social responsibility, much like the social responsibility that once flourished in this country during the turn of the century (the progressives) and during the 60’sand 70's. However, now our call is greater because we are a global nation. We are mothers of the world and the world needs us.

My Interests

Love it, love it, love it! What a fascinating country with the most interesting history. The first religion, the first written language, the first breweries, the first cities and my personal favorite, the first female author ever in history Enheduanna in about 2350 B.C. Essentially, everything we know, we know because of them yet we are bombing the hell out of them. How sweet of us. God bless America:(
