I was born in Lansing Michigan on April 10, 1951. Soon after i moved out to California, later i joined the Vietnam war and afterwards went to Japan to study the master martial arts of Aikido. I came back to the states in 1985 and was noticed by Hollywood and starred in my first motion picture in 1988 entitled Above the Law. I stood out as an action star and have made a lot of movies. I am a 7 degree master in Aikido and am the only American to achieve that honor. I am a practicing Buddhist and am said to be the reincarnation of a lama. I currently am in a band called Steven Seagal and Thunderbox and i am currently on tour. My two huge inspirations in music have been Muddy Waters and BB King. I have been playing the guitar since i was 5 and that has been my love and passion my whole life, not movies. In my spare time i like to train kids in Aikido and travel to Japan while i have time. I currently reside in California.
