okaoko LAB è un laboratorio sperimentale che opera e si muove nel campo della comunicazione visiva,
utilizzando e manipolando video ed immagini, sperimentando e creando un’interazione estetica sempre
volta alla valorizzazione di quella comunicazione che a noi piace definire “muta” ma “mutevole”.
La okaoko LAB nasce nel 2006 per espressa volontà di Simona (SiMWasowsky) e Gianluca. Inizialmente si sviluppa nel vjing realizzando una ricerca
colta e ad hoc dei video utilizzati per le prime manipolazioni, svolgendo una ricerca in opere non
exnovo sfogliando nelle nostre archiviazioni mentali di immagini già viste ma utili ala causa.
La prima fase può definirsi “documentaristica” dove appunto le manipolazioni hanno coinvolto
materiale altrui mixato e manipolato.
Attualmente la okaoko LAB è un laboratorio multimediale che crea e produce le proprie immagini, le proprie “svisioni” e detta cosa anche una
propria linea estetica e una propria ricerca artistica, proponendo una produzione e una sperimentazione consapevole e personale.
okaoko LAB si configura come LABOR aperto a coloro i quali condividano
la linea estetica della stessa OKAOKO, all’interno della quale operano singole
entità, con propri gusti, proprie ricerche e proprie visioni ma
accomunati dalla passione per la comunicazione visiva e la visual art e dalla sperimentazione,
nonchè dalla interazione che queste hanno con la musica e con i suoni.
E’ un progetto che mira a raggruppare vari artisti, non solo di visual art,
per promuovere la comunicazione visiva multimediale come estetica e funzionale.
