Alberto Caicedo was born in 1974 in Guapi (Cauca) Colombia, where he beg an his musical interest at the age of 10 while playing with the kids from the neighbourhood. At the age of 15 Alberto started in Guapi his first goup, “Hernando y su Combo” and soon others, like “Grupo la Nota”, where he played piano, guitar and percussion, followed . Alberto moved to the bigger city Buenaventura (Valle) to develop his musical talents. There he took part in groups like “Yemaya” and “Armonia Uno”. In 1996 Alberto Caicedo decided to move to Cali (Valle del Cauca), the salsa capital, where he accepted an invitation to work with Corporacion Juan Bosco as a music teacher for “high risk” kids and teenagers in Agua Blanca district. In Cali he takes part in numerous salsa and folklore projects. He played in the Salsa Bands “Formula 8”, “Marejada”, “Welsare y su Evolucion”, “Julian y su Combo”, “La Bronco de Venezuela”, etc. and in Colombian folklore music he performed with Fundacion Colombia Viva, Suli Murillo, Marco Micolta, Grupo Bahia, Leonor Gonzalez Mina (la “negra de Colombia”).Alberto Caicedo decided to emigrate to Europe looking for new musical challenges. In The Netherlands Alberto has performed and recorded with artists and groups such as: Marco Borsato, Ninthe, Gerardo Rosales y su Trabucombo, Cubop City Big Band, Rumbata, Charanga la Crisis, Mariano Civico, Roberto Baldes, David Pavon, Bongomatik, Gerald y la Ritmica, Marejada, Nueva Manteca, Cano Estremera, Mario Rivera “Mayito”, and many others, and has taken part in international tours around Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Aruba, Curacao, Suriname and Kazajstan.Currently, Alberto Caicedo has a new CD, where he mixes his musical rootes of folklore and salsa with pop latino.
