About Me

Well hello. Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Katress (rhymes with "matress"). I guess I should start by telling you a little bit about myself, from the beginning. I was born in Texas but raised on a farm in rural western Kansas. My family was government-cheese-and-hand-me-down-clothes poor. From as far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a singer. Not just any singer, but a club performer. I think the seed was planted by Sheena Easton's character on Miami Vice. Nevertheless, while the other little girls in my small town were dreaming of being housewives and nurses, I wanted to be Madonna. Now that I'm older and wiser I've realized I'd rather be Grace Jones. But it's whatever.
I'm weird. I'll admit it. I love the late 70's: the clothes, the T.V. shows, the cars, the music, the whole idea and culture of Studio 54 (and on off nights, Zanzibar). I LOVE DISCO!! This translates to I LOVE HOUSE!! Which is now I LOVE ELECTRO!! On the left you'll find the lyrics to Noir's "Its All About House". I love these lyrics. Though I don't necessarily agree with them all whole-heartedly (I have succumbed to the pop genre myself, and I personally don't care why you do what you do as long as you do it well), its still a great way to describe how I feel about the music in general.
I used to be a house DJ, but I stopped because I couldn't just stand there and watch everyone else have all the fun. I need to have sweaty people spilling Skoal Vodka on me. I need to have men (and women, I'm not at all particular when I'm dancing!) come up from behind to grind on me. I need to grab ass in a crowd. I need that bond that comes from spotting the only other person on the dance floor that knows all the words to "Groovejet" . I need to buy you a shot because I love your earrings. No seriously. Can I have them? Can I have ONE?!??! *sigh*
Now for the serious stuff. I have a BS in Psychology from Kansas State University, and am working on a BS in Philosophy from KSU right now. I want to go to NYU Grad School and specialize in Metaphysics. My record label is Zizi ENT. Oh yeah, and by "my label", I mean its mine. CEO Katress. >^,,^< I have a bi-weekly podcast called Palace of Dance that provides an opportunity for exposure to undiscovered artists, as well as the opportunity for a distribution deal. So make sure you LISTEN and VOTE!! I also bake for cash on the side. You wanna? Hit me up on here!!

Band Members: My name is Kat. ^,,^ "I remember the back in the 80's when I first heard electronic music.
I knew back then this illegal computer sound was gonna be my call.
My heart got hooked on 4x4 beats when house took its journey with
Jack, Chicago and Acid House.
Now my heart is hooked forever.
It’s in my soul,
In my veins,
On my mind 24/7.
Don't care if it’s Jazz, Soul, Tech, Minimal, Funky, Vocal or Hip-house.
Name it I love it.
Its all about the House music and it always has been.

I don't understand people who satisfy with ordinary pop music.
They just listen to whatever radio stations decide they should like, and my God, they like it.

Some people even think that house club's for weirdo’s only.
Maybe they are right, maybe we are weird, maybe this music is weird,
and maybe the clubs are overrated.
We were in this for the love of music, for the love of beats, for the love of loops...
for the love of loops...

Its all about the House music and it always has been.

If you're into house music the DJ scene is like a natural path to follow.
And back in the days, DJ's were weird people who liked music in a weird way.
Back then you'll have to be a nerd to become a DJ.
Nowadays everybody wants to be a DJ.
Nowadays everybody wants to be that nerd.
It sickens me.
If you are not in it for the love of the music...
Would you please fuck off!
Hate those smart asses who think DJing is the easy way to get laid...
Well, get a life!

I wonder what house would be like in the future?
Wonder what the clubs would be like?
Now that technology has taken over the DJ world...
What will the DJ be like in the future?
Let’s just hope that house music will keep its soul.
Let’s just hope that DJ's will keep their skin.
But actually I don't give a shit.
We don't give a shit.
Because it’s not about how you do it.
But why you do it.

Its all about the House music and it always will be."Noir, "Its All About House" http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewpro file&friendid=59499950

Circles and Curl-E-Qs Oh MY! Thoughts and the existence of God. Yes, AND, not ON

This argument leads to the conclusion that "The universe IS God." This could also be viewed as an explanation of the true meaning of the statement "God made man in his IMAGE." You may want to ...

Absurd Debate

In the beginning, anything was possible. Things that were possible remain possible in theory for the duration of the universe. Therefore, anything is still possible even if only in theory, but...

Number Synthesis. Or, Logic > Math. Or, That's One Vote for Kant.

PROBLEM: This argument assumes that logical reasoning is a priori. Grant that the statement: Something exists. is absolutely true. I believe it would be very hard to convince anyone that abso...

Normative Math, or Kantian Syntax; The Creation of Math By Experience, Maybe?

It kills me that no one seems to appreciate the view that math is synthetic. But I think this is because when people think "math" they think of the logical operations of algebra, calculus, etc...but...
