Sharon Bakker has been working as an actress since 1972. Recently she appeared as Tommy Douglas' mother, "Anne", in "The Tommy Douglas Story" and as "Helen" in the "Corner Gas" episode "Picture Perfect". She has worked in numerous theatres across the country, most recently as "Marlene" in Dan Macdonald's "MacGregor's Hard Ice Cream and Gas" at Persephone Theatre.
She is the recipient of a Sterling Haynes theatre award for her portrayal of "Hagar Shipley" in the Theatre Network/Workshop West production of "The Stone Angel" and a Queen's Jubilee Medal for community leadership. Sharon was inducted into the Margaret Woodward Saskatchewan Theatre Hall of Fame in 2003.
Joshua has worked for many of Saskatoon and area’s great theatre companies including, Off Broadway Dinner THeatre, Rosthern Station Arts Centre, Persephone Theatre, and Theatre Ecstasis (Live Five). A company he co-founded with Angela Christie and Rob van Meenen. Joshua is also a proud member of the Saskatoon Soaps. Favorite shows include: Proof (Persephone Theatre), It’s All True (Last Exit), and This Is Our Youth (Theatre Ecstasis).
Kathryn has appeared on stage for many companies in Western Canada, including Bard on the Beach, Full House Theatre, and Presentation House in Vancouver; Workshop West and Theatre Network in Edmonton; as well as for the Globe Theatre and The Saskatchewan Playwright's Centre here in Saskatchewan. For film and television, Kathryn's recent appearances have been in "The Velvet Devil", "Corner Gas" and "The Tommy Douglas Story", the short film "What Remains Human", as well as " Renegadepress.com " and "I Accuse". Kathryn is currently on faculty in the Theatre Department at The University of Regina.
Skye received his BFA from the U of S Drama Department (2000) before spending a summer at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. Since his return he has been active in Saskatoon's theatre scene as well as making appearances in film and television. Some recent acting credits include: “Corner Gasâ€, “Just Friendsâ€, “The Shape of Things†(Theatre Ecstasis); “I Licked A Slag's Deodorant†(Wild Side Productions); “Random Acts†(Dancing Sky Theatre); “Julius Caesar†(Theatre Ecstasis); “Twelfth Night†(Globe Theatre); “Dry Streak†(Persephone Theatre); “The Credeaux Canvas†(Northern Light Theatre); “It's All Trueâ€, and “Scorched Ice†(Last Exit Theatre). Skye was named the Stage West-Equity Emerging Theatre Artist for 2005. Skye is a member of the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre.
Mike Fly has been performing Improvised Theatre for over 12 years and is a founding member and the Executive Director of General Fools Improvisational Theatre. He is the Saskatchewan Regional Director for the Canadian Improv Games and the Director of the international IMPROV CAMP. Mike can be seen in the films "The Risen" and "2 Human" and on the television shows " RENEGADEPRESS.COM " and CTV's "Corner Gas", which he also had the pleasure of acting as junior writer for in 2004 & 05. He is also a Field Producer for the award winning CBC series STREET CENTS.
Cheryl Jack has performed in theatres throughout Canada. Her most recent roles include "Mrs. Van Dann" from "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "Missy" in "MacGregor's Hard Ice Cream and Gas". Cheryl is at present preparing to play Mrs. Linde in Ibsen's "A Doll's House". Some favourite roles include: "Maureen" in "The Beauty Queen of Leenane", "Titania" in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Li'l Bit" in "How I Learned to Drive", and multiple roles in "Porn Star". Cheryl has been seen in the film "Big Mother", and "The Tommy Douglas Story".
Daniel is a teacher, playwright, and actor. He teaches both university and high school and has collaborated with students on several plays for high schools including "Tragedie", "Waking", and "Flock Formations". He has taught, coached and performed improv throughout his career and one of his high school teams won the Canadian National Improv Championship at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. His play, "Pageant" recently premiered at Alberta Theatre Projects' National PlayRites Festival and had its American premiere in Austin, Texas. Another play, "MacGregor's Hard Ice Cream and Gas" recently premiered at Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon. His new play "Velocity" won the New Works of Merit playwriting contest in New York and received a reading there. He is currently collaborating on a musical enititled "Johnny Zed" about the legendary Rock and Roll star who got his power from the uranium mines of Northern Saskatchewan. Daniel has acted in several films and TV series and is current president of the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre and has been a member of its board for 5 years.
An award winning actress. Her recent stage credits include Dog Barked, Just So, George Dandin, Cinderella, and Honk! (Globe Theatre), The Shape of Things and the upcoming Leisure Society (Theatre Ecstasis) as well as As You Like It, Hamlet, Measure for Measure (Shakespeare on the SK), and Pageant (Hot House Theatre). Recently starring opposite Woody Harrelson in the Charlize Theron produced Ferris Wheel, appearances in Film and TV also include New Line Cinema's Just Friends, The Englishman's Boy, I Accuse, Android Apocalypse, Move Closer, The Unsaid, and Corner Gas. Amy is an ensemble member with the General Fools Improvisational Theatre Company, and a main stage player with the Vancouver Theatre Sports League. A BFA graduate in Performance from the University of Regina, Amy continues to call Saskatchewan home.
Tatiana Maslany has been acting for twelve years in film, television and theatre. She is a member of the General Fools Improvisational Theatre Company and has performed across Canada and the United States. She performed at Regina's Globe Theatre in “George Dandin†and “The Secret Gardenâ€. Tatiana's past film and television credits include roles in “Booky Makes Her Markâ€, “Ginger Snaps: Unleashed†and “Renegadepress.com†for which she received a Gemini nomination. Upcoming film and television credits include “Late Fragmentsâ€, “The Robber Bride†and George A. Romero's “Diary of the Deadâ€.
Bruce McKay is a professional actor who lives in Saskatoon. Originally from Sackville, New Brunswick, Bruce earned a B.A. in French and English from Mount Allison University, and then completed his training in the acting program at the National Theatre School of Canada. Since settling in Saskatoon in 1997, he has worked for Persephone Theatre, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, Dancing Sky Theatre, La Troupe Du Jour, and Rosthern Station Arts Centre, as well as a number of out-of-province companies. He has also participated in several artist-driven Equity co-op productions, including "The Beauty Queen of Leenane", "Beside Myself", and Antic Quill Theatre's "Porn Star". Bruce co-wrote Antic Quill's first play, "Lou", with Cheryl Jack, and they performed it together at the Saskatoon Fringe. He appeared as the Storekeeper in Robin Schlaht's film "Solitude"
Andrea Menard is a Metis actor and singer from Saskatoon who has become nationally recognized in both film and music. Andrea stars as Corporal Strongeagle in the national hit TV series “Moccasin Flats†which airs on APTN and Showcase. Her one-woman play, “The Velvet Devilâ€, has been performed in theatres across the country as has been re-written for a television version with CBC Opening Night and Westwind Pictures. The music of the play, which has been recorded on her debut album, was nominated for numerous national and international awards. Andrea hosted the 2005 National Aboriginal Achievement Awards and was part of the Lt. Governor's Celebration of the Arts Gala where she sang for Her Majesty, The Queen of England. She has performed His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales and for The Earl of Wessex. Andrea also recently toured with Tom Jackson's "The Huron Carole". Film credits include: "Skipped Parts", " Renegadepress.com ", "I Accuse", "The Pedestrian", as well as Anne Wheeler's CBC movie, "Betrayed".
Maki graduated from U of R Theatre Department, and has started her MFA at the Simon Fraser University. She loves theatre very much, and she can't be happier when she is acting. Maki's acting credit includes main stage productions at U of R and at the Students Infringement Festival. She has also written, produced, directed, and performed a one-woman play, "Home of My Soul". She is grateful to be in this 'Redemption Ensemble' , and excited to work with those she loves and admires. Thanks to Dan and Larry for this great experience!.
Rob's recent film & tv credits include principle work on " Renegadepress.com ", "Spliced", "The Risen", & "The Lost Angel". On stage, Rob has worked at Alberta Theatre Projects ("The Myth of Summer", "Mick Unplugged"), Globe Theatre ("A Guide to Mourning"), and Persephone Theatre ("Three Days of Rain", "Skylight"). Rob is a co-founder of Theatre Ecstasis, which has produced lauded productions of "The Shape of Things", "Boys' Life", "This Is Our Youth". Rob also played "Fenster" in Dan MacDonald's "Pageant"(Hot-House Co-op). Rob's own play "Whore" (co-written with Cherise Arnesen) debuted at the Saskatchewan Playwrights' Spring Festival of New Plays in 2006..
Munish Sharma is a recent graduate of the University of Regina Theatre Department.His theatre credits include "School for Scandal" at the University of Regina, "Closer" for Hectick Theatre, "Ali and Ali and the Axes of Evil" for Hectik Theatre. Munish made his first appearance at Springfest, reading as "Jee" for Dan Macdonald's "Velocity", and just finished doing a Workshop Performance for Natalie Meisner's "Burning IN". You might even recongize Munish as one of the dancers form the Sasktel Bundle commercial.
