Cassette Generation

About Me

Cassette Generation hail from the Devon city of Exeter. Formed originally in 2005 under the name of Melicus, following a few line-up alterations Cassette Generation came to be in late 2005 and consists of friends Sarah, Chris and Tim and joined soon after by guitarist Sam. Sarah, Chris and Tim work together at Mansons guitar shop and following listening to some rough cut recordings that sarah had made of some songs, decided to start a band. With a wealth of pre-written material and a solid but creative rhythm section to supply the grooves in Tim and Chris, only one thing was missing. It came along in the form of Sam Webb. His unique and inovative way of creating some crazy sounds from his pedals as well as his solid melodious guitar playing, fitted in right away. After a few months of aranging songs from Sarah's huge catalogue of new and old material, the band started giging. A few local gigs got tongues wagging and soon they were supporting another Exeter based rock band Talula. 2007 has started with the band recording a 4 track demo and more gigs added to the calender. The addition of a Boss SPD6 sampler and trigger pads to the precussion is set to inject another layer of originality in to both live and recorded material. Keep an eye on this band. Good things are sure to happen!..
