I was born into a royal family but quickly grew tired of my sheltered and uninteresting life. I was curious of what lay beyond the palace walls. My father made sure that i saw only happy, healthy people and nobody who was suffering. But I did see suffering and was saddened by it, so i set off with a group of wandering monks on a quest to find an end to all suffering. But after years of religious life and little luxury, I found that I would not find the truth by studying other religious people, I must look inside myself and find enlightenment. So I sat under a fig tree and meditated for days and realized that to end all suffering one must not crave and be tempted by earthly things.
