This is the place to see the weekly entries in the Photography Group's challenge. Each week's worth of entries will be posted in its own blog. The winner of the weekly challenge will be determined by votes in the COMMENTS section of the blog for that given week. As the voting gets harder and harder due to many great images, I'm changing the rules to welcome comments on other favorites that were close to getting your vote. It's encouraging to the photographers who touched your heart with their images but didn't quite get the vote (since we can only vote for one out of so many.)
As a side note... if you feel the self-involved need to cut down entries, particularly if you yourself don't have the drive or talent to enter anything at all, your comments will be deleted. End of story. Deal with it, or better yet, leave.
I will be rotating the "Top 24" with the weekly winner in the 2nd spot. I might get to the runners up, and I might not (for the following places) -- the profile has gotten so many friends, it's really a pain to find all the people and put them in. Sorry! Add this profile as a friend if you'd like to be included when you win. And, my personal profile will stay in the top spot. Why? Because I created this challenge, of course! :)

Rules:
1. All photos should be submitted for entry via PRIVATE MESSAGE ONLY. ANY photos submitted to the Photography Thread will be automatically disqualified with no chance for re-entry. The challenge is posted every week in a new blog here, as well as in the Photography Group. Here is the link: Photography Group.
Any photos are okay for submission providing the submissions are in line with the rules of the Photography forum. All mediums of photography including film, digital and digital manipulation are admissible.
2. Only one photo per person will be considered by the group. Multiple entries will be disqualified.
2. You may submit your entries ONLY until Thursday at 10pm Mountain Standard time. Any entries received after this time will not be included in the weekly challenge.
3. The challenge will be weekly, starting on Friday, and the winner will be chosen by majority comments in the photo challenge blog 24 hours later (Friday) at 10pm MST. Photos will not be posted in the blog here until the submission time ends. There will be 24 hours for voting, which will be from Thursday 10pm MST until Friday at 10pm MST. You may not vote for yourself. At that time, the winner will be notified via personal message from myself. The winner will then choose the next weekly challenge which will be submitted in a new thread in the Photography group at some point between Friday and Saturday evening.
4. The challenge should not be too wordy, as to leave room for artistic interpretation. One phrase should do the job.
5. If the winner of the challenge for a given week fails to provide the challenge for the upcoming week by 10pm MST on Saturday (24 hours after being notified via private message), I will provide a challenge in their place, or I may ask the runner up for a challenge idea instead. If the runner up position is tied by two or more people, I will randomly choose someone (most likely the person more involved in the forums) to choose the challenge for the next week.
6. If one person wins multiple weeks in a row, more power to them, and they therefore rock. No complaining, just work harder to beat them the next week. We've also had some complaints about when the photos are taken. For now, we're allowing all photos to be entered regardless of when they are taken. The point of this challenge is going to be different for everyone. If you feel work that is entered is better than yours, then it's an opportunity to work harder to improve your skills.
7. NEW ADDITION: There will be a TOP FIFTY for the voting each week. This means that not every entry will be in the voting blog. All photos in the top 50 will be chosen by me personally. If your image does not make it into the top fifty, it does not mean that it is a bad photo. We only have room for 50 images per week, so try, try again! :)
8. NEW ADDITION 2: Any images with requirements regarding exposure will need to be enforced or monitored in some fashion. Therefore, any images with questionable exposure (or whatever it might be) will be asked to email the original file to me at [email protected] anyone wanting to complain about the magnitude of the challenges... stop now. This is exactly what it's supposed to be: CHALLENGING. If you find a particular challenge in a given week to be something difficult, that means you have room to grow. So work on your skills, work some more, and then work some more. Or, just sit that one out and try again the following week. I will tolerate zero complaints about the difficulty of the challenges, which images meet the criteria, or which are disqualified. If you are finding them to be difficult, or seeing certain photographers regularly in the top five, that's because they've worked hard at their craft. It should only challenge us all to work harder ourselves, to be the best we possibly can be. And nobody here has no room left to grow.
