About Me
Hailing from the gloomy depths of Oregon, Perpetual Conversion came together in early 2007. Terry and Paula had been talking for quite some time about getting a doom band together. They saw Micaela performing in another band, and asked if she would like to jam with them. Their first practice was on February 16th, 2007.
They are a 3-piece band of the Stoner/Doom/Southern Metal variety. They are currently writing new material for their upcoming 2009 releases. They are also talking with Ravens Eye Records about some vinyl splits, and a possible full length.
They recorded 3 songs in the summer of 2007 at Central Node Productions for 2 compilations, set to be released in 2008.
One is the 2nd installment of CNP's Black Comp series. The Black Comp Vol. II will include other great Oregon metal bands such as Proven, Severein, Myndissent, Monday With A Bullet, Domesticide & more. It is out now and available while they last.
The other compilation is a Buzzov*en tribute cd, which they consider themselves VERY lucky to be a part of!! It will be released on Sleeping Village Records and will include bands like Rwake, Sourvein, Blind & Multi-Swinebirth, among many others!! If you don't know who Buzzov*en is, you should really check them out. The release date for this compilation has been pushed back to sometime in 2009.
In October 2007, Perpetual Conversion toured their way to San Antonio and back by way of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Idaho, so they could play at the 2nd Annual Doomed To Fall Festival, and have played most the local venues around Eugene, like John Henry's, Oak Street Speakeasy, Samurai Duck, Black Forest, etc. They've made alot of new friends along the way. They would like to thank EVERYONE who has ever came to a show or supported them in any way.
In June of 2008, they lost their drummer, Micaela, to physical therapy. They wish her the best in her health and all future endeavors. At this point, they are looking for a permanent replacement. Sean Schock of the Happy Bastards is filling in for now. If you are interested in trying out for the band, just contact them here at their myspace. A few general requirements are that you must have transportation, gear and an open mind. Plus have the desire AND ability to practice regularly, and do a few shows once in awhile.
As Paula and Terry search for a new drummer they are going to be writing new songs to be included on their first full-length release, which will hopefully be recorded in the summer of 2009. Until then they are going to take a break from shows and concetrate on churning out some new ultra-heavy sonic drudgery. So stay tuned for that. In the meantime, to keep you satisfied, the Black Comp Vol. II is finally availble for your consumption. See the related blog for more information on how you can go about obtaining it.
So far, Perpetual Conversion have been lucky enough to share the stage with bands like Mendozza, Damnweevil, Roanoke, Aldebaren, Rue, Zoroaster, Ronoso, Saros, Paranaut, Stormcrow, Ninth Moon Black, I Am The Arm, Hex, Split Hoof, Salvador, Buried Blood, Facepilot, Mongoloid Village, Wendol, Heathen Shrine, Our Last Enemy, Life In Exile, Dragged By Horses, Slo-Bula, Pillcrusher, Dark As Fuck, Religious Vomit, Mala Suerte, Saros, No More Existence, Apocalyptic Christ, Ladon, Rye Wolves, Facing Extinction, Lucika, Only Nightmares, Dark Iron Legacy & more.
So, watch out for them, as they may be coming to a town near you. They will keep you informed on all new aspects of the band. Prepare to be Converted...Perpetually....
